After 8 enjoyable years at Chatterton`s Solicitors & Wealth Management, I am delighted to announce that it is time for my next challenge, and tomorrow is my last day at the firm before moving on to new pastures. As I prepared for this next chapter, I reflected on my time at Chattertons – I`ve been fortunate to work with wonderful clients and fantastic colleagues and lead a truly brilliant and exceptionally hard-working employment law team. I will miss the many great friends I`ve made over the years, but there`s no doubt we`ll continue to keep in touch. I am proud of my performance at work during this period and of the whole team. I have worked for a very diverse and interesting clientele, successfully filed and defended numerous claims before the Labour Court, and helped clients find solutions when difficult employment situations arose. As a team, we have always strived to remove stress from an exceptionally stressful situation for those trapped in employment-related issues. In addition, I have had the pleasure of working with various other legal teams within Chattertons, including the support of our fantastic Corporate & Commercial team led by Adam Gilbert, and I have also enjoyed working closely with our other commercial departments to provide clients with comprehensive commercial legal support.

The Chattertons Employment team was proud to be named a leading firm in the Legal 500 for Employment Law in 2016, shortly after my appointment as head of the department, and we are delighted to have maintained this award every year since. This recognises the quality and breadth of work done by the employment team and highlights the team as a leader in the East Midlands region for employment law work. I am also particularly pleased to have played a small role in the training and development of a number of junior lawyers over the years, our current rising star, Kayleigh Howarth, having graduated as a lawyer very soon after her many years of exceptional hard work and dedication, and who I know has a fantastic legal career ahead of her. It was also a great pleasure to work closely with a teammate (and Coldplay fan!) and one of the hardest working lawyers I know, Grant Shackleston, to whom I owe a huge debt of gratitude for keeping the fort to myself during not one, but two separate periods of maternity leave! Earlier this month, we welcomed Suzanne Wrench to the team, who brings extensive experience in employment law and will continue to strengthen the team.
